Alejandro's ability causes a negation of the effects of his sister's ability.

Limits

Alejandro appears to be unaffected by Maya's ability while it is manifesting, and with effort he can reverse its effects in Maya and others after it has manifested. (Lizards, Kindred, The Kindness of Strangers, Four Months Ago...)

The maximum range at which Alejandro can neutralize Maya's ability is not clear, but it appears to be less than 100 meters. It is also unclear how long after their "deaths" that Alejandro can revive Maya's victims.

It is not known if Alejandro's power would interact with the powers of evolved humans other than his twin sister, nor is it known if his power could be used to treat illnesses or injuries unrelated to Maya's ability.

Alejandro must be in physical contact with Maya in order to neutralize her ability.

Examples

Alejandro uses his ability...	...to make Maya's black tears disappear...	...causing his own eyes to briefly darken, before fading back to normal...	... and revives Nidia from the effects of Maya's ability. (Lizards)
At the Mexican police station when Maya begins to cry about Derek turning her in for murder, Alejandro is there to negate her ability...	...and makes her black tears disappear and revives Derek and the two police officers. (Kindred)	Alejandro reverses the effects of Maya's ability in the car, also stopping Sylar feeling its effects. (The Kindness of Strangers)

Notes

• According to writers Aron Coleite and Joe Pokaski, Alejandro was able to reverse the effects of Maya's power on Nidia because Nidia hadn't died yet. "Once people die, all Alejandro can do is pray and grab a shovel."[1]
